Privacy Policy

Rovik is designed as a private film-photography archive. Most records remain on your device unless you deliberately request an AI review.

Effective date: October 7, 2026 · Last updated: October 7, 2026

Important summary: Rovik does not require an online account. Camera records, roll records, frame logs, profile details, photos, scans, voice notes, maintenance records, and saved AI reports are stored locally on your device. When you request an AI review, the review data and selected scan images described below are transmitted to OpenRouter and an AI model provider to produce the report.

1. Scope and responsible party

This Privacy Policy applies to the Rovik iOS application and this legal website. “Rovik,” “we,” and “us” refer to the developer and operator of Rovik. It explains what information Rovik handles, why it is handled, when it leaves your device, and the choices available to you.

2. Information you provide

  • Local profile: nickname, selected avatar, biography, favorite photography genre, favorite film, and profile preferences.
  • Camera and film archive: camera names and characteristics, shutter-dial behavior, repair notes, dial checks, film stock, ISO, roll status, frame counts, exposure settings, lighting, metering method, possible misdial markers, scan results, favorites, and free-form notes.
  • Photos: dial photographs, roll-cover photographs, and developed-frame scans that you capture or select.
  • Audio: optional voice notes that you choose to record for a frame.
  • AI reports: roll-review results returned by the AI service and saved locally for later viewing.

Rovik does not request your date of birth, contacts, precise location, health information, or payment-card details.

3. Device permissions

  • Camera: used only when you choose to photograph shutter dials, roll covers, or developed frames.
  • Photo library: used only when you choose to import an existing dial image, cover, or developed-frame scan.
  • Microphone: used only while you deliberately record an optional hands-free voice note.
  • Tracking authorization: Rovik may present Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt for advertising-performance measurement. Permission is optional. Denying permission does not affect camera logging, AI reviews, or purchases. The current app does not include a third-party advertising SDK or use the advertising identifier for its core functionality.

You can change permissions at any time in iOS Settings. Rovik does not access these resources in the background.

4. Local processing and storage

Your archive is primarily processed on-device. Structured records and profile settings are stored in the app’s local storage. Imported and captured media and voice notes are stored in the app’s private container. The OpenRouter credential used by the app is stored in the iOS Keychain. Rovik does not operate a user-account database or cloud-sync service in the current version.

5. AI roll reviews

An AI review occurs only after you press the review button. Rovik sends the following to OpenRouter: the selected roll’s name, film stock, camera, ISO, progress, notes, relevant camera profile and maintenance information, structured frame settings and result markers, and any developed-frame scan images included as review evidence. Rovik sends only an attachment indicator for a voice note; it does not send the voice recording itself. Dial-photo content is not uploaded unless it is included through a review image flow.

OpenRouter routes the request to the selected model and its model provider. Those providers may process data in countries other than your own and their retention practices may vary. Do not place sensitive personal information in notes or images submitted for AI review. OpenRouter’s current policy states that image files sent for inference are not persisted beyond routing except as needed for abuse detection, security, billing, or legal compliance, while model-provider practices may differ.

6. Purchases

Consumable coin purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit. Apple handles payment credentials. Rovik receives product and transaction status needed to verify the purchase and add coins; Rovik does not receive your full payment-card number. Apple’s own privacy terms apply to App Store transactions.

7. Information handled automatically

Network requests necessarily expose limited technical information such as IP address, request time, and basic connection metadata to network providers, OpenRouter, model providers, and Cloudflare when you access this website. Rovik does not currently include its own analytics or crash-reporting SDK. Apple may provide developers with aggregated App Store or diagnostic information when users choose to share it with Apple.

8. Sharing and service providers

Rovik does not sell personal information. Information is shared only as needed for requested features, legal compliance, security, or business operations:

  • OpenRouter and model providers process data submitted for AI reviews.
  • Apple provides iOS permissions, App Store distribution, and in-app purchase processing.
  • Cloudflare hosts this legal website and may process ordinary web-server and security logs.

We expect service providers to protect data consistently with their contractual and legal obligations. Their independent privacy policies also apply.

9. Retention and deletion

Local records remain until you delete individual items, reset the local account, or remove the app. The in-app reset removes the local profile, camera and roll records, frame logs, locally stored photos, scan images, voice notes, maintenance history, dial checks, AI reports, and coin balance maintained by the app. Deleting the app also removes its app container, subject to normal device backup behavior.

Data transmitted for AI review is retained according to OpenRouter and the selected model provider’s policies and any legal or security requirements. Purchase records may be retained by Apple as required for financial, fraud-prevention, and legal purposes. Website security logs are retained by Cloudflare according to its service configuration and policies.

10. Your choices and rights

  • Choose whether to grant camera, photo-library, microphone, or tracking permission.
  • Review, edit, favorite, export, or delete archive records inside Rovik.
  • Decline AI review and keep structured photography records on-device.
  • Reset all Rovik local data through the app’s account-reset control.
  • Depending on your location, request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability for personal information handled by a service provider.

For OpenRouter data requests, you may also consult or contact OpenRouter under its privacy policy. For Apple purchase information, use Apple’s privacy controls.

11. Children

Rovik is a general photography utility and is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum digital-consent age in their jurisdiction. Rovik does not knowingly collect children’s personal information through a developer-operated account service. A parent or guardian should supervise a minor’s use where required.

12. Security

Rovik uses Apple platform protections, private app storage, Keychain storage for credentials, and encrypted HTTPS connections. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Keep your device protected and avoid submitting sensitive information in photography notes or AI evidence.

13. International processing

AI and website providers may process information outside your country. Where required, those providers are responsible for appropriate transfer mechanisms under their applicable agreements and law.

14. Changes and contact

We may update this policy when Rovik’s features, providers, or legal obligations change. The revised date will be shown above. Material changes will be presented through the app or this website when appropriate.

For privacy questions or requests, contact the Rovik developer using the support contact available on Rovik’s App Store product page. Include “Rovik Privacy Request” and enough detail to understand your request, but do not send sensitive photographs or credentials.
